Student Behavior Expectations Agreement

School Year 2025–26

All students and their legal guardians are required to review and sign this document to acknowledge the behavior, academic, and safety expectations in place for the 2025–26 school year.

1. Attendance & Punctuality

a. Students are expected to maintain at least 95% attendance and punctuality. Every absence must be excused with a valid note.
b. Students must arrive on time to school and all scheduled classes.
c. School hours are:
 – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:15 AM to 2:50 PM
 – Wednesday: 8:15 AM to 12:30 PM

2. Classroom Expectations

a. Students must remain in their assigned classrooms at all times unless given direct permission by a staff member. Students must also honor independent classroom expectations and rules.
b. Leaving class without permission or skipping is not allowed.
c. Students are expected to respect learning time by staying present and engaged.

3. Academic Expectations

a. Students should maintain a minimum grade of 70% (C) or better in all classes. (Grades below 70% do not gain credits.)
b. Regular attendance directly supports academic achievement. Students are encouraged to attend tutoring or teacher office hours when additional academic support is needed.

4. Behavior & Communication

a. Students should communicate respectfully and in a professional demeanor with staff and peers.
b. Foul or inappropriate language should not be used in classrooms or hallways.
c. Bullying is not tolerated. All behavioral expectations and consequences are outlined in the Student Code of Conduct.

5. School Uniform

a. Students must wear the school uniform daily: black pants with a belt (no leggings) and an APHS issued uniform shirt.
b. Closed-toe shoes are required—Crocs, flip-flops, and ripped clothing are not permitted.

6. Prohibited Items & Food Policy

a. Outside food or drinks (except sealed water bottles) are not allowed on campus.
b. Food from home is only permitted with a current doctor’s note and must be eaten in the cafeteria during breakfast or lunch.
c. Students may not bring any prohibited items including: vaping devices, lighters, scissors, aerosol sprays, perfume/cologne, weapons, or bandanas. These items will be confiscated and disciplinary action will follow.

7. Electronics & Safety Procedures

a. All electronic devices must be turned in upon entry each morning.
b. Students must use school issued laptops with respect, destruction of these devices will result in being fined.

8. Building Access After Dismissal

a. Once students exit the building at the end of the school day, re-entry is not permitted.
b. To participate in after-school programs, students must remain inside the building after dismissal.

9. Security Protocols & Personal Conduct at Entry

a. Upon arrival, students are required to pass through security screening.
b. All students must fully comply with staff and security directions at the point of entry and throughout the school day.
c. Any attempt to bypass or interfere with safety protocols will result in immediate disciplinary action.
d. Students may not enter the building with strong and distracting scents.

By signing below I acknowledge above rules and expectations for ASPIRA Antonia Pantoja High School. Failure to comply with the expectations listed in this agreement may result in disciplinary action, including expulsion.
